Engineering and Autism

I'm 49 years old. At age 40 I discovered I have Autism (Asperger Syndrome in particular). Knowledge of the problem has been of no help in finding employment. Maybe engineering doesn't want Autistics, regardless of other considerations? I'm sorry body is too long, blame brain dumps in Autism if you want.
