IEEE Code

The IEEE code of ethics reads like a manual of how professionally one should act with regard to learned behaviors.  In my own experience as an undergraduate student i've seen a great divide between those that conform to their own standard of whats right and wrong vs. those that exhibit the very values found in the IEEE code. I've noticed from personal interactions, in numerous projects, that the people in the latter group tend to achieve success in projects and various work at much higher rates than the other group. This tells me that there is a synergistic value to their interactions which allows them to come together to understand the technology and produce honest and realistic results.
